Our local chippy is at Arundel and our local "pub" is the Arundel Tavern, sadly they are on the Gold Coast. Best Fish and Chip Shops in the world are in England, well IMHO (in my humble opinion). Not to mention Holland pies! Now I am cheating here but could it be the Mossley Village Chippy????? Just off to our favourite Indian Restaurant. This is why I need to get my own blog up and running because I ramble on sooooooo much. Sorry about that. It's a long weekend here on the Coast and I believe it's a long bank holiday weekend there. Have a good one. Cheers Linda
Well, the brick building is a clue (along with the title of the post!) that this is Arundel Street in Ashton rather than Mossley! An interesting point is the pronunciation of the word - the town of Arundel is normally pronounced with the stress on the first syllable (A-run-del) whereby Ashton folk put the stress on the second syllable (a-RUN-del).
Birds Eye view of the location here.
Whoops sorry Martin C but when I clicked onto your birds eye view of the location "here" it bring up a map of Australia??? It was a stab in the dark for me and tongue in cheek when I said Mossley!! After all isn't it just a bit of fun guessing?
Another exciting well composed picture that grabs your attention
The Happy Garden. It's actually on Stamford Square (which isn't a square, it's a road), where Arundel Street joins the main road.
Linda - the "here" link still takes me to the view of the location in Ashton. Microsoft must have funny ways of doing things with its Bing thing in different countries.
