Ashton-under-Lyne, Donkey Stone Wharf
Entrance to Donkey Stone Wharf.
The Blue plaque tells us the there used to be a mill here called Eli Whalley. They made Donkey Stones (soap sized stones use for scrubbing up doorsteps on old terraced houses).
It's just off Lower Wharf Street,
