I spent many an evening in this pub with good friends that these days have mostly moved away to different parts of the globe as the Celtic Tiger takes a cat knap in this economic climate.
I was in Paddy Cullens on New Years Eve 2008, good atmosphere, good band, good beer and the ghosts of a thousand memories.

I lived in Dublin for three years from spring 2000, so it was nice to come back here and catch up with a few old mates from the Bank of Ireland over a pint or two in Mulligans. So this should be a picture of Mulligans…

It isn’t. It’s The Temple Bar. If you get to Dublin, this pub is a must to visit. It’s big inside, lots of interconnected rooms. Some with Irish bands thrashing away, others quieter. You can easily get lost in here. If you do, the best tactic is to go outside and come back in through the door you first came in and retrace your steps (according to my girlfriend who went missing for 15 mins).

Another of my favourite places of worship, The Porterhouse in Temple Bar, Dublin centre.
They have their own micro-brewery on site. I’m not a beer connoisseur, so all the beers they brew are lost on me. I just drink lager. Still, their in house brewed lager was mighty fine.

I have some clever software to alter pictures. But no matter what I did to this one I couldn’t improve it. I wanted more colour, but it just looked wrong, so here it is, in the raw.
Oh, it’s a picture taken in Phoenix park in Dublin, showing the monument dedicated to the Duke of Wellington, an Irishman, and twice the British prime minister. (I though he was English, but no). Phoenix park is the biggest city centre park in the world. Even bigger than Central Park, New York. Well, the tourist bus said so.
