Pen-y-garreg Dam.
Construction started 1895 and took nine years to complete.

The dam supplies water mainly to Birmingham. It also has a hydro electric generator built into the base of the dam.

Inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1952.
The water held here is piped away and used in Birmingham.
